SDCC 2017: WB and DC Comics light up the stage in Hall H

Warner Bros gave fans and critics, packed into yesterday’s sold out panel, a real treat by confirming several new projects in the DC Extended Universe, including Wonder Woman 2 and Shazam.

Perhaps though the most exciting news of the panel was Ben Affleck’s reassurance that he was still Batman and would star in Matt Reeves upcoming solo project, The Batman.

We reported yesterday that executives over at Warner Bros were considering replacing Affleck and opting for a younger actor to portray the famous Dark Knight in the planned new trilogy.

However news that Affleck is staying put will come as great news for fans who see his portrayal of Batman as one of the most authentic in cinematic history.

As well as news that The Batman is going ahead as planned, Warner Bros also confirmed Wonder Woman 2, Suicide Squad 2, Batgirl, and Green Lantern Corps were currently in development as would continue developing the DC Extended Universe.

It’s quite a packed schedule for the Hollywood movie studio as it’s continues to claw back some of the market for his arch-rival Marvel Studios who’ve very much dominated the box office over the last couple of years.

Check out the upcoming confirmed releases for the DC Extended Universe below:
