We reported last week that over 60 Marvel character would appear in next year’s mammoth blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War. Now whilst the movie marks the transition between ‘phase 3’ and ‘phase 4’ of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, it’s also going to mark the end for several major characters.
The news of the impending doom for some of ‘Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ was delivered by Marvel President Kevin Feige during an exclusive interview with Joblo where he was asked if any key characters would meet their end.
As always, exactly who could be bowing out is up for discussion with nothing concrete emerging from Marvel HQ, but one character we’re sure won’t be affected, too much, is Chris Evans’ Captain America.
The actor recently confirmed that Avengers 4 would mark his final appearance as Steve Rodgers having began his tenure back in 2011 during Captain America: The First Avenger.
If we were to speculate who could meet a grisly end during Infinity War, we could in fact see Marvel godfather Robert Downey Jr bow out of his career defining role as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
The Academy Award-nominated actor has redefined the superhero genre with a character that has become synonymous with him – in fact he’s defined it to such an extent that even Stan Lee expressed his concern at Marvel’s ability to re-cast the role one day.
Avengers: Infinity War hits cinemas worldwide from 4 May 2018.
