Comic Con has been rocket by piracy issues of late – with major Hollywood studios pulling their upcoming blockbusters from the annual San Diego event in fear of piracy leaks similar to that of last year’s Batman v Superman, which saw a pirated trailer appear online days ahead of the official launch.
But it now appears not all is lost for the fan-favourite event as the world’s greatest villains-turned-heroes, Suicide Squad, will make a major appearance at the event, with most of the stellar-cast due to attend.
With the event kicking off next month, and with the film due out in August, Warner Bros. will be going all out to generate hysteria for the highly anticipated release, including turning the Hard Rock Hotel into DC Comics infamous Belle Reve Penitentiary.
The makeshift jail will serve as a fully functioning virtual reality experience that will allow eager fans to experience Belle Reve in all it’s glory, including fighting alongside the Suicide Squad in a action-packed scene from the movie itself.
Stars including Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne will be in attendance for the official Q&A launch in the main hall – though it’s unlikely Ben Affleck and Jared Leto will be in attendance… but you never know.
Comic Con International kicks off in San Diego on July 21 and Suicide Squad hits cinemas worldwide from 5 August.
