Good news for Transformers fans out there – original franchise star Josh Duhamel, who starred as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox, has confirmed he’s returning for the fifth film alongside Mark Wahlberg.
Taking to his Twitter page to share the casting news, Duhamel spoke of his excitement at being back in the global box office franchise – director Michael Bay, who takes to the helm again, was also pleased to have an original alumni back amongst the cast;

If rumours are to be believed, Duhamel’s involvement in the next installment isn’t as surprising as it may originally seem, as Bay was keen to feature the character in Age of Extinction, despite essentially rebooting the franchise with a whole new cast – however scheduling conflicts meant Duhamel was unavailable at the time.
Production on the fifth installment, recently titled Transformers: The Last Knight, got underway this month with Mark Wahlberg returning to leading man duties for the second time, having taken over from previous star Shia LeBeouf.
Details regading the plot have yet to be released, but it will likely continue from where Transformers: Age of Extinction left off – The Last Knight is currently set for a 2017 release date.
